Hey there and welcome to Healthy Desk Job!

I started this blog to document my desk job weight loss journey and to share everything I’m learning as I go.

Right now, I’m not following any specific diet but I am practicing portion control with all my meals. I have calorie counted in the past and I’m pretty aware of how many calories most foods I eat contain so I try to ensure I’m within that range but I definitely don’t count anymore!

My main sidekick right now in this journey is my DIY treadmill desk and Fitbit Inspire 2. I’ve written a blog post on this if you’re interested to see my setup and learn how I put together my DIY treadmill desk.

For a little more info about me…

  • I am self-employed
  • I work from home
  • I’m a mom to two kiddos under 5

So even though you might think I’d get lots of exercise running around after them, I went back to work at the beginning of 2022 and this weight loss journey has been STUBBORN! I’m hoping with my new desk setup and relaxed approach to dieting, I can watch the pounds drop off… watch this space!
